Stones in the Bible
Please forgive the low sound.
Luke 19:40 “I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
In other words—this praise cannot be silenced.
The Palms had great significance on Christ's entry into Jerusalem.
Victory – They pointed to triumph, foreshadowing Jesus’ ultimate victory over sin and death through the cross and the resurrection.
Peace and Joy – Waving palms was an expression of celebration, welcoming a king who brings true peace.
Remembrance – Even today, palms remind us of Christ’s victory and the hope of eternal life we have in Him.
Stones in the Bible : Stones appear again and again in the Bible—not just as physical objects, but as powerful symbols and instruments of God’s work among His people.
- Stones are used as markers of God’s faithfulness. When Abraham built altars, he often used stones to mark moments of divine encounter, creating lasting reminders of God’s promises.
- Stones also served as weapons in the Bible, most notably in the story of David and Goliath. Found in 1 Samual 17
- Another significant use of stones is found in the giving of the commandments
- Stones are also associated with moments of judgment and deliverance
- The stone plays a pivotal role in the Easter story. Jesus, after His crucifixion, was placed in a tomb sealed by a large stone
Each of these stories involves people deeply connected to stones: Abraham the altar builder, Moses the lawgiver, David the giant slayer, Samson the deliverer, and Jesus the risen Savior. Their encounters with stones remind us that God can use ordinary things for extraordinary purposes. As we prepare our hearts for Easter, let us remember the stones in our own lives—moments of challenge, faith, and transformation—and trust that God is at work in and through us.
