From the Pastor’s Heart What is the goal. Whatever we are doing we must have a goal in mind. In January we started building a foundation by reading the book of Proverbs and now we are in the book of John, reading, studying, and praying through the life of Jesus. The goal is to read through the New Testament this year together…lets make readying the Bible a priority together… February is considered the month of love…but Love is Jesus…John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…for YOU! There is nothing in this world greater than that LOVE. In January, we started planning a Baptism service this for Feb 18. The original plan was to have 3 people baptized but a scheduling conflict arose that prevented a couple of those folks from being able to come…We were not deterred and continued with the plan…I can tell you that this service was exciting, and I pray God was smiling. All morning long on the that Sunday people were talking about their excitement for Claire. While Claire and I were discussing the flow of the service a young girl walked up with a curious look and a serious question on her lips…Are you getting baptized today? She worked up the courage to come up and ask. The excitement is contagious, and we need our little ones asking these questions and most importantly we need to be prepared to answer the question. Not only are the little ones asking, but many grown-ups are asking questions too…What is that mean? Can I do it? Is it necessary? Of course, the questions aren’t just about Baptism…it is about church as a whole…When someone walks into Hope, we need to be ready to answer the questions…with that being said, let’s continue to read, study and pray through scripture…ready to answer the question, What is Love?
